The 229 Student Ministry exists to equip and encourage students for a life of faith in Christ. Primarily serving middle and high school students, the leadership of the 229 Student Ministry is passionate about helping students realize the truth of the Scriptures, the value of Christian community, the importance of wisdom, and God's love towards His people.
Students are offered weekly Community Groups each Sunday at 9:00am in the Student Loft at Perimeter Road Baptist Church. These groups are designed to teach students theology by going through the Bible in an "exegetical" style step by step each week. Each week the groups kick off with a large group gathering for announcements, prayer, and lesson overview. Then students typically get into smaller groups based on age and gender for a more in-depth lesson of the Bible passage.
The 229 Service happens almost every Wednesday from 6:15 - 7:30pm in the Loft. This service is geared with middle school and high school students in mind. It includes music for students led by the 229 Music Team (adults and students) with songs carefully selected in order to be uplifting while in keeping with sound theology. The service includes Biblical preaching from Pastor Will Cook or guest speaker.
One of the biggest hopes for the 229 Student Ministry is that God will be glorified by healthy relationships developed between the 229 leaders and students. Offering Christian guidance to students through conversation, recreation, and prayer alongside the ministry they hopefully receive from parents is priceless. We truly desire to see students grow in their love for Jesus.
