January 2, 2019 | 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Pastor Brian Anderson

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)

As the new year begins, we find ourselves focused on new goals, and maybe committing ourselves to achieving former goals of past years, with the hope of completing them by the end of 2019. Ah, completion! What a great feeling when we finish what we hoped to accomplish twelve months earlier.

One of our goals to complete this year at Perimeter is to memorize foundational verses that highlight the grand narrative of the gospel: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration! We begin this new year with 2 Timothy 3:16-17; All Scripture that we hide in our hearts this year is from God and it is useful for teaching us, directing us, correcting us, and training us in Christ-likeness.

What is the purpose of His Word for our lives? That in Him we may stand complete! Here it is: the completion that we most desire is found in none other than Word of Christ and He is faithful to equip us for every good work this year! Let us memorize His Word, together, in 2019!
